  • Island Alpaca Farm's Annual Shearing Day Celebration

    When: Apr 25, 2020. Location: Oak Bluffs

    Meet Over 50 Alpaca and watch the alpaca getting their hair cut to experience the fleece to fiber transition first-hand! Bring the family for this educational event to witness the process, and see the locally produced garments that are made from the fiber of these wonderful animals that graze in our pastures!   • Spectrum LGBTQIA Film Festival

    When: May 1 to May 3, 2020. Location: Vineyard Haven

    Spectrum is a film festival that presents a world perspective on LGBTQ+ stories, people, and issues through a variety of films and includes guest speakers, discussions,  and a special event for LGBTQ+ youth.

  • Wellfleet Oyster Festival

    When: May 8 to May 9, 2020. Location: MV Museum

    The Martha’s Vineyard Oyster Fest (MVOF) is a mission-based festival that aims to drive long-term local, regional, and national awareness of Martha's Vineyard and Massachusetts-farmed oyster and native fish profiles. The festival gathers oyster farmers, the who’s who in the beverage industry, the area’s best chefs, and a fantastic cadre of special guests, to celebrate the bounty from the sea.

    This cultural event marries food, wine, education, and music. Enjoy live chef demonstrations with native seafood, taste fresh shellfish from local oyster farms and dine on artisanl meals from food trucks along with beer and wine tastings.

    A portion of the MVOF proceeds will go to the Martha’s Vineyard Shell Recovery Partnership. This MVSG program reduces and recycles shell waste on the Island, provides a local source of shell for shellfish restoration, and improves shellfish production, which in turn improves local water quality.

Over 30 tastemakers have come together to celebrate their specialties from exquisite wines to delectable hors d’oeuvres.   • Figawi Charity Ball

    When: May 16, 2020. Location: Hyannis, Cape Cod

    The Figawi Charity Ball will be held at Hyannis Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis, from 7:00 pm to Midnight. The evening includes culinary delights, live music, silent auction and a charity casino. Ages: 21+.

     

     


     

  • Figawi Race Weekend

    The Annual Figawi Race Weekend is recognized as a top sailing event not only on the East Coast but is known nationally as well as internationally. Figawi Race Weekend kicks off the Cape Cod and Nantucket summer season. Entries include sailors from several states 240+ boats (including 30 power boats.) Over 3,000 sailors and visitors, as well as locals, attend this event.

  • Nantucket Spring Restaurant Week

    When: Jun 1 to Jun 7, 2020. Location: Nantucket

    Come and experience exceptional food, wine and Nantucket's hospitality at many of the island's acclaimed restaurants. This Spring participating Nantucket restaurants will be offering three course dinners priced from $25 to $50.  It is the perfect opportunity to taste something new or to dine with an old favorite.   • Sam Sylvia Pro-Am Golf Tournament

    When: Jun 7 to Jun 8, 2020. Location: Nantucket

    Participants select their own threesomes, and play with a professional from the New England PGA. This special event kicks off with a cocktail party, on course golf games and auction on Sunday evening. The tournament will be played Monday morning at Sankaty Head Golf Club, followed by an awards luncheon.

    The Nantucket Book Festival is a multi-day cultural event celebrating the rich literary resources of Nantucket’s past, present and future. The Festival seeks to create and renew enthusiasm for books, connect authors and readers, encourage a love of reading and writing among young people, raise funds for literary causes, and promote Nantucket Island as an oasis and haven for the literary arts.

  • Fourth of July Celebration

    When: Jul 5, 2020. Location: Nantucket

    Jetties beach is the best place in Nantucket to view fireworks and celebrate the Independence Day. Each year, families and friends set up on the beach at Jetties beach and marvel at the spectacular fireworks show, over the harbor. The amazing firework display is very popular and draws quite a crowd. Leading up to the fireworks at night, there are many activities to take part in throughout the day. A fun, annual event is the 4th of July parade through Main St. This family oriented event is highlighted by a water fight featuring local fire trucks, supplying lots of water.

  • Nantucket Garden Festival

    When: Jul 15 to Jul 17, 2020. Location: Nantucket

    The Annual Nantucket Garden Festival highlights the unique and beautiful garden ecosystems on Nantucket and focuses on the importance of sustainability, conservation and gardening ethics for the long-term health of the island. The festival celebrates gardening through creative workshops, exquisite garden tours, children’s workshops, family activities and evening events. 

  • Nantucket Comedy Festival

    When: Jul 16 to Jul 18, 2020. Location: Nantucket

    Founded in 2007, the Nantucket Comedy Festival is an annual summer event that brings top comedic talent to Nantucket Island as the major fundraiser for Stand Up & Learn, an island-based, year-round comedy education program serving Nantucket's children. The Nantucket Comedy Festival envisions Nantucket as a community connected by laughter.

    The Steamship Authority is proud to be the official transportation sponsor of this USAT sanctioned event. Register to compete or cheer on your favorite athlete as they  swim in the waters of Nantucket Sound, and then bike and run on the beautiful island of Nantucket. Part of all proceeds benefit The Town of Nantucket Scholarship Fund.

    Come and enjoy the annual Boston Pops on Nantucket concert to benefit Nantucket Cottage Hospital with outstanding music and fireworks in a gorgeous setting on Jetties Beach.

  • Festival of Wreaths at the Nantucket Whaling Museum

    When: Nov 25 to Nov 29, 2020.

    This beloved event, a veritable island tradition, marks the Nantucket Historical Association's kick-off to the holiday season, transforming the Whaling Museum into a magical winter wonderland. Stroll through and marvel at the array of exquisite wreaths lovingly crafted by members of the Nantucket community--including local businesses, non-profit organizations, and schools. Materials run the gamut from traditional to unconventional, and each wreath is a true masterpiece. Visitors bid on their favorites in a silent auction to benefit the NHA's year-round outreach efforts.

  • Festival of Trees at the Nantucket Whaling Museum

    When: Dec 4 to Dec 31, 2020. Location: Nantucket

    “Where the treetops glisten and children listen…” The Whaling Museum is transformed into a festive winter wonderland. This island tradition features around eighty brilliantly decorated trees designed by community members, local merchants, nonprofit organizations, artists, artisans, and schoolchildren.
