The Steamship Authority Reservation Office is now accepting reservations for travel now through May 14, 2024 via online, postal mail or phone.
NEW DATE: 2024 Nantucket General Public Internet Opening
For Nantucket Travel ONLY
The 2024 general public opening has been scheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024. At that time, vehicle reservations for travel from May 15, 2024, through October 20, 2024 will be accepted.
The Steamship Authority will continue to closely monitor and actively manage the number of users allowed on the website during the opening to ensure the system is operating at an optimal level. This will be done through the use of a virtual waiting room that allows customers to see their “place” in line and the approximate wait time until they can make a transaction, eliminating the need for customers to continually refresh their browser.
Although summer automobile reservations will not be able to be made by phone during the online opening periods, the Reservation Office will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily should a customer need assistance with their login password or PIN.

2024 Winter and Spring Schedule Opening: October 15, 2024
Reservations for travel from January 4, 2025, through May TBD, 2025 may be made via the internet, the telephone or in person on October 15, 2024.

Please note: When making a vehicle reservation, you must provide the year, make, model, and license plate number of the vehicle you will be transporting. All vehicle reservations are non-transferable.
Payments
To book passage for your vehicle, payment must be made at the time of your reservation. Online reservations must be paid for at the time of booking. For telephone or in-person reservations, payment must be made within 5 days of booking. If made less than 5 days before your travel date, payment is due the day before you travel. We accept cash, check, Steamship Authority gift card, American Express, MasterCard, Visa or Discover credit cards for advance reservations. Service fees are assessed for returned checks.
