2020 Proposed Summer Fall Operating Schedules

Proposed Changes to the Martha's Vineyard 2020 Summer/Fall Operating Schedules

The proposed operating schedule from May 15 to June 16 would start on the same day and end 3 days earlier than in 2019. The M/V Governor would be triple crewed and operate up to 7 round trips per day starting at 5:30 a.m. departing from Woods Hole. The M/V Island Home would be triple crewed and operate 7 round trips per day and the M/V Martha’s Vineyard would operate 7 round trips daily. The M/V Nantucket may operate in place of the M/V Martha’s Vineyard and the M/V Island Home from May 15 to May 20 and May 27 to June 16 while the M/V Martha’s Vineyard and the M/V Island Home go into repair for a “spruce up.” The M/V Woods Hole will be triple crewed and operate up to 7 round trips per day starting at 5:30 a.m. departing Vineyard Haven.


The proposed operating schedule from June 17 to September 8 would start 3 days earlier and end the same day as in 2019. The M/V Island Home and the M/V Martha’s Vineyard would both be triple crewed and operate 7 trips per day and the M/V Governor and the M/V Nantucket would both be triple crewed and operate up to 7 round trips per day. The M/V Sankaty would be single crewed and operate 3 round trips per day with an optional fourth round trip, Monday through Friday.
The proposed operating schedule from September 9 to October 20 would start on the same day and end 3 days earlier than in 2019. The M/V Governor, M/V Katama, M/V Island Home, and M/V Nantucket are scheduled to operate on this route.


The proposed operating schedule from October 21 to January 3 would be similar to the 2019 operating schedule except they would start 3 days earlier and would end on the same day. The M/V Martha’s Vineyard and M/V Island Home would be triple crewed and operate 7 round trips per day and the M/V Katama would be triple crewed and operate up to 7 round trips per day.

 

Proposed Changes to the Nantucket 2020 Summer/Fall Operating Schedules

The proposed 2019 Nantucket Traditional Ferry operating schedule from May 15 to June 16 would start on the same day and end 3 days earlier than in 2019. The M/V Eagle would be triple crewed and operate 3 round trips per day. The M/V Nantucket may operate in place of the M/V Eagle during this schedule (except for May 21 to May 26) if the M/V Eagle goes into repair for “spruce up.” The M/V Gay Head would be triple crewed and operate 3 round trips Monday to Friday and 2 round trips with an optional third round trip on Saturdays and Sundays. The M/V Sankaty would have 2 single crews and operate 3 round trips per day from May 15 to May 20 and from May 27 to June 16. The M/V Nantucket would replace the M/V Sankaty from May 21 to May 26. During this time period the M/V Nantucket would be triple crewed and operate 3 round trips per day.


The proposed operating schedule from June 17 to September 8 would start 3 days earlier and end the same day as in 2019. Both the M/V Eagle and the M/V Woods Hole would again be triple crewed and operate 3 round trips daily for the entire schedule. The M/V Gay Head will be triple crewed and operate 3 round trips from June 17 to August 8. The M/V Katama will operate in place of the M/V Gay Head from August 7 to September 8 while the M/V Gay Head is in repair.


The proposed operating schedule from September 9 to October 20 would would start on the same day and end 3 days earlier than in 2019. The M/V Eagle, M/V Gay Head and M/V Woods Hole are scheduled to operate during this schedule.


The proposed operating schedule from October 21 to January 3 would be similar to the 2019 operating schedules except they would start 3 days later and would end on the same day. The M/V Nantucket would be triple crewed and operate 3 round trips per day. The M/V Nantucket will operate in place of the M/V Eagle for the entire schedule while the M/V Eagle is in repair. The M/V Woods Hole would be triple crewed and operate 3 round trips per day Monday to Friday and two round trips with an optional third round trip in Saturdays and Sundays. The M/V Woods Hole will operate in place of the M/V Gay Head for the entire schedule.

The proposed 2020 Nantucket High-Speed Ferry Schedule would start and end on the same days as in 2019. The 2020 summer schedule would start on the same day and end 3 days earlier than in 2019. The 2020 fall schedule would start 3 days earlier and end on the same day as in 2019.

Operating vessels are subject to change and during peak travel periods unscheduled trips may be added to meet traffic demands for the entire 2020 operating schedule.
