Reservations Supervisor


The Steamship Authority is currently accepting applications to fill the role of Reservation Supervisor, a full-time, permanent, non-union position in the Customer Service Department.  This individual will be responsible for the basic supervision of the Call Center in the Mashpee Reservation Bureau.  

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Focus will be on training employees and maintaining on-going learning with the Learning Management System as well as processing payroll records via Time Clocks Plus
  • Ability to maintain records via Excel and utilize Outlook is required.
  • In the absence of the Reservations & Community Relations Manager, be able to make policy decisions and assume the duties if unreachable or as necessary.
  • During emergency situations (weather, breakdown of vessels, etc.) assist staff to rearrange customers' reservation schedules and notify same of the changes made.
  • Support in opening and closing the call center, dependent upon schedule.
  • Assist in interviewing new employees and making recommendations for hiring.
  • Share in responsibility of training new and current staff members.
  • Provide assistance to clerks as needed.
  • Maintain telephone reports from the reservation telephone system.
  • Handle complaints from all customers, both internal and external.
  • Share responsibility for creating office work schedules, break schedules, and kitchen clean-up schedules.
  • Assist any walk-in customers as needed.
  • Make reservations via the TTY telephone for customers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Reservations & Community Relations Manager.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent; management or supervisory level experience preferred; skilled experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.); excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask while under pressure; assist in handling situations in a polite and professional manner; knowledge of Steamship Authority policies concerning vehicle and passenger reservations is a plus; ability to communicate pleasantly with office staff, customers and other Steamship Authority departments; knowledge of the reservation system is desireable.
